This does not imply that women are less vulnerable to hypnosis — it could have more to do with total success charges for girls. The thought of sexual intercourse with girls excited his disgust. The thought of enjoying the toes of prostitutes was disgusting to him. For years he had been in love together with his sister’s ft. The affected person appears upon his perverse sexual impulse as pathological, and is painfully affected by the truth that his vile fancy has for its object his sister’s foot. Patient makes fascinating disclosures regarding his vita sexualis. From his kinfolk it’s ascertained that the patient has a foolish admiration for the ft of his sister; so that she avoids him and seeks to cover her feet from him. After his twelfth year he had no curiosity in the ft of male people. Reference may be made here to a case of contrary sexuality, to be described later, through which the principal sexual curiosity was within the boots of male servants.
Case 66. Minister, aged 50. Once in a while he goes to homes of prostitution and asks to rent a room. Case 67. Student, Z., aged 23; comes of a tainted family. Case 65. (Dr. Pascal, “Igiene dell’ amore.”) X., merchant, now and again (however particularly in bad weather) had the following need: He would accost some prostitute and ask her to go to a shoe-store with him, the place he would buy her the handsomest pair of footwear of patent leather-based, below the situation that she would put them on immediately. Case 88 of the sixth edition-that of an individual affected with contrary sexuality, which is later described-is here instructive. At this stage he began to have hysterical attacks when the shoemaker spoke to him of nails in ladies’ footwear or of driving nails in the identical. At fourteen he began to masturbate, considering, at the same time, of the attractive foot of a lady.
His partiality for his sister’s foot had cost him many a sleepless night time. Often he was impelled to contact his genitals with considered one of his sister’s shoes; but he had been able, up to now, to grasp this impulse, especially for the rationale that for two years (owing to progressive irritable weakness of the genitals) the simple sight of the foot had induced ejaculation. From these cases it could also be plainly seen that the shoe is the fetich of the masochist, and apparently due to the relation of the dressed feminine foot to the thought of being trod upon and different acts of humiliation. Such circumstances of want for ladies’ footwear, without conscious motive and with out demonstrable origin, are actually innumerable. At twelve he became an enthusiast for ladies’ feet. With a purpose to induce ejaculation it was only necessary for him to chop soles out of pasteboard and beset them with nails; or he would purchase ladies’ footwear, have them beset with nails in the store, and at house scrape them on the bottom, and finally contact the top of his penis with them.
